Go West (1923) (western with an all-MONKEY cast)

Posted on May 2, 2013

Forget Abel Gance, Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton, if you want to see THE best film of 1923 AND the best film with an all-animal cast you have arrived at your destination. What could POSSIBLY top a western played out by Hollywood’s most talented monkeys who give more naturalistic yet energetic performances than most human actors of its time? Don’t pass on probably your only chance in your lifetime to see monkeys engineer locomotives, order whiskey at a saloon, a blind and legless beggar monkey who (spoiler warning) is just pretending and an elaborate chase sequence with monkeys riding saddled goats.
